Little tip, big impact

With so many people using mobiles and smartphones to access websites these days, here's a little tip on how you can make it easy for people to call your business from their phones.

It's very simple and quick to do but it could be the difference between a prospective customer calling you or not.

With this on your pages, you take away another barrier to contact and your smartphone visitors can get in touch with you with one click ...er... touch.

Learn how to do it. . .

Intranet web apps - saving time & money

One of our specialties is developing web database applications and we're seeing more and more customers looking for web apps that will work in a private way for their customers and/or clients.

These intranets (or extranets) can deliver real benefits to any size of company. It may be for things like administrative tasks that can be automated or simply providing information that can be searched quickly. Here's some of the things we've done for clients recently:

  • Internal resource booking system
  • Internal advert system for exchanging and selling
  • Employee appraisal questionnaire system for employees
  • Client feedback system
  • Document library

The thing the all have in common is that they save time and/or money for the company by freeing staff from manual tasks. Also, because the apps use a database, statistical information can be derived to add even more value.

If you think something could be improved within your company with a system like this, get in touch.

Alternative to Spotify?

Back in February 2009 we had a newsletter item on Spotify, the music streaming service.

Four years on, Spotify has become very successful, both as a free and paid service. Personally, I felt when they mucked up the playlist feature, it spoiled it a little. And I never liked the ads, or having to download and install the app.

Well, here's another similar service, Grooveshark. It seems to have a similar library in terms of quantities, but the real value is that it is it's all browser based and extremely easy to use...and no ads.

Might be worth a try.
