Update Scotland updated

Update Disability Information Scotland is a wonderful charity whose job is to provide information on disability resources and issues.

We've recently completed their new website which utilises their SCOOP database which contains thousands of disability related records.

The site has been designed to make the information retrieval as simple as possible. It comprises a public area, available to anyone and a members area for organisations who provide disability services. Members have access to much more information and can maintain their own records and suggest records to be included in SCOOP.

There is also an administration system (based on the Blot CMS) used by Update Scotland staff to manage and classify the information.

YouTube boys buy Delicious

Delicious, the social bookmarking site, has been bought by AVOS - the company owned by Chad Hurley and Steve Chen.

Why is this interesting? Because these are the boys who founded YouTube, then sold it to Google for over $1.7bn in 2006.

Delicious were one of the original social networking sites, allowing you to keep and share bookmarks, and it is/was a fine system, but it's been in decline in recent years and current owner, Yahoo have been keen to offload.

What then do Chad and Steve have in mind? No indications are available yet, but you can be pretty sure Delicious will be changing.

Tollcross Chilli Pie anyone?

You've heard of chilli con carne and chilli dogs but have you heard of the Tollcross Chilli Pie?

We came across this in Edinburgh's Lupe Pintos Mexican Deli the other day.

It's the result of a collaboration between Lupe Pintos and Saundersons Butchers, both members of the Tollcross Traders Association.

Packed with delicious chilli made to Lupe Pinto's recipe (you can pick up a copy in the shop), it's already winning awards.
