We've just added the Blot eCommerce and CMS systems to a new site for Edinburgh fossils shop Mr Woods Fossils.

The shop, in Edinburgh's Grassmarket, is an absolute Aladdin's Cave if you're into dinosaurs, ammonites, meteorites and the like. Many of the products are available online at their new website designed by our friends at Waterbomb:

At Blot Design we're great fans of Drayton Bird's blog. Drayton is a highly successful direct marketer with an international reputation and his blog and tips on marketing are just downright great.

On his blog he's posting videos about various aspects of marketing and advertising. One in particular resonated with my experience. It's about the biggest mistake people make when they are writing copy.

It really doesn't matter if you're writing for the web, brochures, direct mail or whatever, avoid this mistake and you will get better results!

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg thinks email is dying. Could that really be possible?

In a recent conference speech Sheryl told us to look at what our children are doing on the web to see what the future will look like.

Kids are now using Facebook more and more and email less and less. Maybe in a couple of years we won't use email at all.
