Conficker called home?
If you're reading this and it's April 1 or
later, maybe nothing happened!
Conficker is a nasty computer virus
that has been circulating for the last few
months.
Reports suggest that it has an April 1
trigger where it will 'phone home' to
its creator for more instructions. What they
might be or the resulting malware effect are
unclear at this point.
There's a Windows patch available and virus
cleaning software companies think they know
how to
remove it if you think it's more than an
April Fool!

Over the last few months we've been doing a
lot of development with our web applications
and in particular the Blot
Property System for property letting
companies.
As these applications get ever more features
and sophistication we've decided that our
customers need a way of quickly seeing the
key information for their business.
For the Property System we now have the
management dashboard which shows clients such
things as
- Properties requiring certificates
- Properties with outstanding repairs
- Value of on show properties
- Value of rented properties
A click from the dashboard will let the user
drill down into more detailed information.
As development progresses, we'll look to add
new information to the dashboard and perhaps
extend the dashboard idea to other applications

Where would we be without email? A lot
better off, some would say.
Email has the capability to use up vast
amounts of our time - and that's when it's
working. When it's not working, it is a
nightmare for all concerned, not least for
the poor web design company who supplies the
email service as part of the hosting package.
Most of the time, the email services work
pretty well. Often the problems lie with
configuration or something related to the
physical connection.
