Is the US ready?
A few months ago we told you about 'Kilts
Across America', two of our friends who will
be motorcycling across the US on a couple of
Harleys to raise funding into the research
of Moebius Syndrome.
Well, they've just left on their adventure.
The trip was launched with a media event on
Calton Hill and the two left on their bikes
under police escort (no-one fell off!)
The pair are sharing their experiences with
us through a regular spot on Talk 107 and a
blog at www.kiltsacrossamerica.co.uk/blog/,
which contains downloads of their radio
activities, and unfortunately, some footage
of them singing.
Anyway, it's for a great cause -
£250,000 is the target for the
research. Check in regularly to see how they
are doing.

| New Firefox - 8 million downloads in one day |
| |
Mozilla released the newest version of their
Firefox browser this month. Version 3 was
downloaded approximately 8.3 million times in
the 24hr period that was Download Day.
The browser, known for its standards
compliance and the large community that
develops useful plug-ins that add to its
functionality, boasts increased security,
faster downloads, one-click bookmarks and
overall faster performance in the new version.
We like it for the developers plug-in and the
spell checker that checks anything you key
into a form, and it is the best browser to
test your HTML.
However, with only around a 4% share of the
browser market, don't think Microsoft is too
concerned.
