Every month we see a lot of web sites. Some are
very successful with search engines and some not
Let's get niche specific
There can be lots of reasons why a site isn't
but one we often see is when the site
contains a lot of information that is similar to other
sites, or uses words that are in common use.
There are two things that happen in these cases.
First, the web site has to compete with all
the other web sites that are similar and
second, the site won't rank
very high in the search engines because some of the
others will have been optimised. Bottom line will be
that there won't be much new visitor traffic coming
to the site.
The way around this is to try and make your site
more unique. Being very specific about what you do
can help. If you have a niche, use it. There will be
less competition and therefore you have a better
chance in the search engine bun fight.

What on earth is Web 2.0?
Well, the strange thing is
that it is not anything specifically. There is
no one new technology that sums up what it is about
It is more about how the Internet is evolving
from the original web of static websites that
simply provided information, to an Internet of
websites that is characterised by social interaction,
participation, personalisation, sharing, containing
multimedia, and is dynamic.
Yes, there are newer technologies involved such as
Ajax, SOAP, RSS, blogs, podcasts etc, but
just think of it as the continued evolution of the
What can you do about it? Well you can't stop it,
