Along with our new company name, we've completely
redeveloped our website to incorporate the new
identity and to give us a platform to promote and
launch the services and applications planned for
2006.
The site is WC3 standards compliant throughout and
meets the WAI accessibility recommendations. We
aim to meet these standards where possible for all
new sites we build.
We have also integrated the successful Wordpress
blogger software into the site in the Writing
section. This area will be used for articles and
useful documents for our customers and the world at
large.
The article stream and our
newsletters are also now
available as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds
where you can subscribe to the feeds and be alerted
each time new content is published.

| Jagger Update rocks search engine placings |

Every now and then the search engines change their
rating algorithms and affect businesses all over the
world. In November last year, Google made an
update, christened the 'Jagger update', that has
changed the search engine positioning of a lot of
companies.
So what did they change? No-one knows for sure
but the industry experts reckon it comes down to
two main areas; link relevancy and reciprocal links.
Regular readers of the newsletter know that Google
places great store on the links that point to your
site. But a good rating is more complicated than just
the number of links. They should ideally be
- from sites in the same business context as
yours
- use anchor text that includes your target search
terms
Now, in an effort to minimise the effect of link
exchanges schemes, it looks like Google are marking
down sites where they sense 'artificial' reciprocal
links. So if you've exchanged links in the past with
sites who have no business or logical association
with your site, it might be worth removing them.
